The art of becoming… something else

Is that what we are all doing?

Transforming into that elusive blue butterfly which always seems to fly a bit further just as we almost meet her… for a moment there is stillness and we can simply ‘be’ and yet as soon as we have that awareness, of ‘being’, the movement of becoming is happening again.

Devires (plural) is the Portuguese word used to describe the process of change, transformation and metamorphosis.

In the works of French philosopher Gilles Deleuze, his concept of DEVIR (Becoming) is not a change of identity but a process of uninstallation or dismantling, which enables other forces and creates connections.

‘Becoming’ is a continual process that is occurring with or without intention.

So what drives this process?

Our spirit, moving us to becoming…

This drawing came to me as a glimpse. And then appeared quite quickly on the page. Nature elements that I had collected in the past had left some imprints and in my mind. As I worked there was a feeling of change, like something different was happening, new internal connections.
